In Flora, 8 of the most important international floral artist of the world transform 8 instituitional patios located on some of the most representative buildings in Córdoba, Spain. An inspirational dialogue between heritage and the ephemeral and stunning art of modern floral instalations. Alfie Chin, Flores Cosmos, In Water Flowers and Isabel Marías are some of the artists chosen to show their floral creativity at full bloom.
Flores Cosmos´installation Antena looks weird and fabulous. Their signature style features experimentation in shapes, colours and materials. They work with flowers as they could with any other material: what they do is pure sensitivity, artistic vision and creative boldness. They dream of setting up a floral installation at the Sculpture Space in the UNAM, in the forest of Kyoto or on the moon.

Our favorite instalation was My own nirvana, by spanish artist Isabel Marías, whose work has reminescences of the still lifes from the classical dutch masters that really speak to us.
My Own Nirvana
For Isabel Marias ´ paradise is a dreamlike garden represented by a large model constructed of flowers, plants and moss. The power of beauty taken to its ultimate extreme (is that not what a flower is?). A visual feast. The realm of the senses. The windowed patio of the Bullfighting Museum reminds us for a moment of the flower bell jars of old that adorn the dreams of the nostalgic. An invitation to fantasise, in which we know where we begin, but we don’t know where we will end up.
